6.1.1 QlM |
The institutional governance and leadership are in accordance with the vision and mission of the Institution and it is visible in various institutional practices such as NEP implementation, sustained institutional growth, decentralization, participation in the institutional governance and in their short term and long term Institutional Perspective Plan.
Institutional Governance and Leadership in accordance with the provided Vision and Mission Statement involves aligning administrative practices, policies, and decision-making processes with the overarching goals of the institution. This requires a strategic approach that integrates the principles of the New Education Policy (NEP), fosters sustained institutional growth, decentralizes college activities, and formulates both short-term and long-term institutional perspective plans. NEP Implementation: The institution should actively incorporate the principles and guidelines outlined in the New Education Policy (NEP) into its operational framework. This involves adopting a holistic approach to education, focusing on interdisciplinary learning, promoting research and innovation, fostering critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and ensuring equitable access to quality education. Institutional leadership should spearhead the implementation process by creating dedicated committees or task forces responsible for aligning the institution's curriculum, pedagogy, and assessment methods with the NEP objectives. Sustained Institutional Growth:Institutional governance should prioritize strategies for sustained growth and excellence in higher education. This involves continuous assessment and enhancement of academic programs, infrastructure development, faculty recruitment and development, research initiatives, and student support services. Leadership should foster a culture of academic excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement by encouraging collaboration, rewarding merit, and investing in faculty and staff development. Decentralization of College Activities: Decentralization of college activities entails empowering departments, faculties, and administrative units with greater autonomy and decision-making authority. This allows for responsive and efficient management of resources, encourages innovation and creativity at the grassroots level, and fosters a sense of ownership and accountability among stakeholders. Institutional leadership should establish clear guidelines and mechanisms for decentralization, promote participatory decision-making processes, and provide support and guidance to decentralized units to ensure alignment with institutional goals and priorities. Short-term Institutional Perspective Plan (1-3 years):
• Strengthen faculty development programs to enhance teaching and research competencies. • Implement outcome-based education and assessment practices to ensure quality-learning outcomes. • Establish industry-academia partnerships to facilitate experiential learning and enhance employability skills. • Introduce flexible and interdisciplinary curriculum options to cater to diverse learner needs. • Enhance student support services to promote holistic development and well-being.
• Establish Centers of Excellence in key disciplinary areas to foster interdisciplinary research and innovation. • Strengthen international collaborations and exchange programs to promote cross-cultural learning and knowledge exchange. • Implement sustainable practices and green initiatives to promote environmental stewardship and social responsibility. • Enhance alumni engagement and fundraising efforts to support institutional growth and development. • Foster a culture of lifelong learning and continuous professional development among faculty, staff, and students.
