RULES AND REGULATIONS

 

  1. NAME OF THE ASSOCIATION:

The society shall be known as RAJIV GANDHI COLLEGE OF ENGNEERING AND TECHNOLOGY ALUMNI ASSOCIATION hereinafter referred to as the "Society".

2. ADDRESS OF THE ASSOCIATION:

The registered office of the Society shall be located “PONDY-CUDDALORE MAIN ROAD, KIRUMAMPAKKAM, PUDUCHERRY-607403.”

3. GOVERNING BODY: 

Composition: The Governing Body shall consist of seven members, including the President, VicePresident, General Secretary, Joint Secretary, Treasurer, and other members.

Roles and Responsibilities:

President: To preside over all meetings and represent the Society.

            Vice-President: To assist the President and act in their absence.

           Secretary: To maintain records and manage correspondence.

           Treasurer: To manage financial matters and maintain accounts.

Other Members: To support the activities and objectives of the Society.

4. MEMBERSHIP:

  • Eligibility: Membership shall be open to any individual who subscribes to the objectives of the Society.
  • Admission: Membership shall be granted upon the approval of the Governing Body and payment of the membership fee.
  • Rights and Duties:  Members shall have the right to participate in meetings, vote on matters, and hold office. Members are expected to actively participate in the Society's activities and adhere to its rules and regulations.

 

 

5.  MEETINGS 

  • General Meetings: The Society shall hold at least one General Meeting annually. Special General Meetings may be called as needed.
  • Governing Body Meetings: The Governing Body shall meet at least Monthly to discuss and manage the affairs of the Society.
  • Quorum: The quorum for General Meetings shall be [Number/Percentage] of the total membership. The quorum for Governing Body Meetings shall be [Number/Percentage] of the Governing Body members.

6.    FINANCIAL MATTERS 

  • Financial Year: The financial year of the Society shall be every year 31st March.
  • Funds: The funds of the Society shall be derived from membership fees, donations, grants, and other sources as approved by the Governing Body.
  • Accounts and Audit: The Treasurer shall maintain accurate accounts of all financial transactions. The accounts shall be audited annually by a qualified auditor.

7.  AMENDMENTS 

Any amendments to this Agreement or the Society's rules shall require the approval of at least six of the members present at a General Meeting.

8.  COMPLIANCE WITH LAWS 

The Society shall comply with all applicable laws and regulations, including the Societies Registration Act, 1860, and any amendments or rules there under.

9.  DISPUTE RESOLUTION 

Any disputes arising among the Members in relation to the Society shall be resolved amicably. If necessary, disputes shall be referred to arbitration in accordance with the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996.

10. DISSOLUTION

In the event of dissolution, the assets of the Society shall be distributed in accordance with the provisions of the Societies Registration Act, 1860.
